Art came first. An early interest in comics and digital animation eventually led to tattooing, and after getting a first tattoo at fifteen, the direction became clear. Paul began his apprenticeship at eighteen at A Lasting Image and was working professionally by nineteen.

Twenty-seven years in professional studios later, that same interest in making something permanent still drives the work. Ink Ink opened in 2005 and has remained intentionally owner-operated: one client, one project, and one plan at a time.

The goal is not to rush a design onto skin. It is to understand what the client wants, explain what will translate well, and build a tattoo that fits the body and has the best chance to hold up over time.

The philosophy

Art is an equation.

A strong tattoo is more than a good drawing. Meaning, placement, scale, flow, technical execution, healing, and long-term readability all matter. Cover-ups require compromise. Large projects require foresight. Different skin and different locations require different decisions.

That is why planning is part of the tattoo, not something that happens before it.

The process stays simple on purpose: understand the idea, make the right decisions, execute carefully, and set the client up to heal it well.

Listen

Start with the idea, the reason behind it, the references, and what the client wants the finished tattoo to feel like.

Plan

Work through placement, scale, flow, style, skin, existing tattoos, and any future work before committing to the final approach.

Execute

Use patience and technical control so the design is applied as cleanly and intentionally as the plan allows.

Heal & Age

Give clear aftercare and think beyond the fresh photograph. The goal is work that continues to make sense after it heals.

Piercing is handled with the same emphasis on planning and client education. Placement, appropriate jewelry, a clean professional process, and realistic healing guidance all matter. Initial piercing jewelry uses implant-grade titanium.
